Bayview Wairakei Resort is just 9 kilometres (10 minutes drive) from the centre of Taupo. Bayview Wairakei Resort is on State Highway 1 – the main road north that leads in and out of Taupo. We are a 3.5 hour scenic drive from Auckland and just 4.5 hours from Wellington. Regular flights from both these cities to Taupo Airport are approximately 1 hour. Our central location make us an ideal meeting venue when you have delegates coming from cities in the North Island.
Bayview Wairakei Resort can provide the utmost standard of comfort for all levels of accommodation. From standard single rooms or twin-share, space and comfort for the family or luxury accommodation, Bayview Wairakei Resort can provide the ideal room. Each room is equipped with Sky TV, international direct-dial telephones, broadband internet, bedside clock/alarm, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities a mini bar and a balcony overlooking the resorts gardens. Other services include 24-hour reception and room service, guest laundry and dry cleaning.
Bayview Wairakei Resort offers two fantastic on-site restaurant options with a wonderful selection of mouth-watering menus designed by our award-winning chefs. The Pavilion Restaurant offers an exquisite fine dining experience in a warm setting. Choose from our delectable A-La-Carte menu as our talented chefs create a culinary masterpiece for your dining pleasure. The Pavilion is open for a full cooked breakfast daily as well as dinner. The Fairways Cafe offers a tasty all day menu with a selection of bistro style meals from a light salad or warm soup to a hearty steak or seafood dish.
Bayview Wairakei Resort has two house bars, each with it’s own unique style. The Geyser House Bars elegant atmosphere and central location make it perfect for pre dinner cocktails.
Pavilion Restaurant
Dining at The Pavilion Restaurant, Bayview Wairakei Resort’s signature restaurant, is more than a taste sensation, it is an event which involves all five senses.
Our Executive Head Chef Karl Mueller, previously of the Chateau Tongariro, creates inspirational menus - offering an infusion of succulent flavours which incorporate pick-of-the-season New Zealand produce with an international influence.
We serve only the best New Zealand meats and seafood.
Sample a bottle from our cellar full of acclaimed New Zealand wines – Pavilion Restaurant staff are happy to wine-match for you. Tranquil ambience and an effortless blend of service and style provide the perfect complement to a perfect meal. For the very best start to your day, our Chef has created a heaven-sent breakfast selection.
Breakfast: 7am to 10am daily.
A La Carte Dinner: 6pm to 9pm daily.
Fairway Cafe
Fairways Cafe offers delicious contemporary-style cuisine from 10am each day.
Dine indoors or enjoy your meal al fresco on Fairways’ sunny decks or in our gardens. The perfect finish to a round of golf on our 9 hole golf course, is a refreshing drink and delicious bistro-style meal at Fairways Cafe. Have our barista make your favourite coffee or enjoy a cheeky Sauvignon Blanc with lunch.
There is plenty here to tempt you on the all-day bistro style menu.
Fairways Cafe offers a buffet every Saturday from 6pm.
19th Hole & Billiards Room
An ideal spot to unwind with a cold one after your round on our 9-hole resort course or the neighbouring Wairakei International Golf Course.
See the history of Wairakei Resort and the Taupo area told through black and white photography adorning the walls as you enjoy a friendly game of billiards and a drink or two.
The 19th Hole & Billiards Room is open daily from 10am and is located within the Fairways complex.
The Geyser House Bar
Plush comfortable furnishings, soft lighting, good music, great company and the barman pouring your favourite drop – this is the Geyser House Bar.
Open daily from 5pm.
