It’s close proxity to the Napier Hastings Expressway ensures easy access to all of Hawke’s Bay’s wide range of activities and attractions. Within easy walking distance of the cafe's restaurants, bars, and the main shopping centre of Taradale.

Our spacious suites are tastefully decorated and offer visitors the perfect place to relax and pamper themselves. All suites are designated non smoking and serviced daily. Some of our suites have double spa baths. All of our spacious suites have air conditioning to provide some relief from Hawke’s Bay high summer temperatures to ensure that you arise refreshed to take on the new days challenges and fully enjoy the great Hawke’s Bay lifestyle and glorious weather. A free broadband internet connection and Sky Digital television in each suite ensure that you are able to keep up to date with world events from your Napier retreat. Most upstairs suites have a private balcony, from which to enjoy the Hawke’s Bay sunshine into the evening. There is a choice of Standard & Executive Studio Suites, Standard & Executive 1 Bedroom Suites & 2 Bedroom Suites. We also have specially equipped Access Suites for disabled guests. Porta-cots, highchair and a child minding service are available for our very young guests. All suites have either a single or double sofa bed to cater for additional visitors and an additional single bed is able to be placed in most suites.

How to find us

From Hawke’s Bay airport Leaving the airport turn right onto and proceed along the Napier Hastings Expressway following the signs towards Hastings, exit the expressway at the "Taradale Meeanee" off ramp and turn right onto Meeanee Road passing under the expressway, turn left at the Gloucester Street/Lee Road traffic lights (3rd set). The Ballina Motel is just 300 metres away on the right. From Taupo or Gisborne Coming to Napier from Taupo (approx 1.5 hours) or Gisborne (3.5 hours). After passing the Hawke's Bay Airport proceed along the Napier/Hastings Expressway following the signs towards Hastings, exit the expressway at the "Taradale Meeanee" off ramp and turn right onto Meeanee Road passing under the expressway, turn left at the Gloucester Street/Lee Road traffic lights (3rd set). The Ballina Motel is just 300 metres away on the right. From South (via SH 50) Wellington Travelling north on SH 2, approximately 25kms north of Dannevirke (Signposted “Tikokino” and “Onga Onga”) turn left onto SH 50 and follow the signs to Napier (two left hand turns). After crossing the Tutaekuri River Bridge and entering Napier the Ballina Motel is 1km on your left. From the city centre Leave the city via Tennyson Road and travel out until you reach Kennedy Road. Proceed along Kennedy Road, Gloucester Street, Lee Road and straight through the Meeanee Road traffic lights into the second half of Gloucester Street. The Ballina Motel is just 300 metres away on the right.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation of individual bookings must be notified no later than 72 hours (3 days) prior to mid-day on the expected date of arrival. All cancellations less than 72 hours (3 days) prior to mid-day on the expected date of arrival will be charged for the accommodation booked unless we are able to replace the booking. Cancellation of Group bookings must be notified no later than 30 days prior to the expected date of arrival. All cancellations less than 30 days prior to the expected date of arrival will be charged for the accommodation booked unless we are able to replace the booking. If you fail to arrive for your booking, you will be charged the full cost of the accommodation booked.
